Frank Ocean in 2024, still charting and still making an impact
Frank Ocean's sophomore studio album, "Blonde," made a resurgence back into the top slots of the Billboard 200 chart, achieving its highest position in eight years. Released in 2016 to critical acclaim, "Blonde" debuted at number one and racked up 275,000 album-equivalent sales in its first week. On the (Week of May 28), Chart Data reported that "Blonde" was listed at No. 34 on the Billboard 200 rankings. As of this week, (June 24), “Blonde” is still charting at No 52. Elsewhere on the chart is Channel Orange, which sits at No. 75.
As Frank Ocean fans, anticipate new music or an annoucement of a tour, it is still impressive that years later, his music has shown the impact of his artistry. The recent Apple Music Best Album list awarded "Blonde" with the No. 5 spot, sparking a debate on whether the song was too high on the chart, as well as albums that deserved to be placed higher. Billie Eilish has also released a cover to the “Blonde” track ‘Solo’. Hopefully these moments are sparking Frank Ocean to get back to music.
Most recently, Frank Ocean announced his brand Homer and has been releasing jewelry, accessories, and more.
As we revisit Frank Ocean’s music, here are some of our mashups/mixes of some of our Favorite Frank songs.
